Chikayoshi Toyohara

Toyohara Chikayoshi (Suzuki Sato) was a student of Kunichika, a woman artist and reportedly Kunichika’s partner in later life.

This triptych is made up of three colorful Oban format Japanese woodblocks form this vibrant and elegant scene in which Geishas present a red Japanese maple to the emperor.
