Albert Gos

(1852-1942)

Albert Gos originally studied violin at the Conservatory of his native Geneva.

Later he turned to painting, and became a student of Menn, Barth and Calame.

The artist loved Swiss folklore and music, and on his travels through the alps, he brought with him not only his paints and easle, but also his violin.

A street in the city of Geneva is named for the artist. He is the father of the equally well-known painter and poster designer Francois Gos.

Albert Gos is listed in the Benezit
