H.C. Forestier was a Geneva painter, printmaker
and illustrator with a very distinctive style.
He is also well-known for his poster designs.
His favored subjects included bouquets such
as this one, and country wine festivals in the
Geneva countryside. His biography appears in
all the major art dictionaries including the
Benezit.
