Gottfried Herzig

 

Portrait of a Farm Boy

The Swiss painter Gottfried Herzig (1887-1922) was born in Obersteckholz near Bern and died in Ueberlingen Germany. He studied at the Munich Academy and later in Paris at the Academy Julien.

Herzig is listed in the major art dictionaries including the Benezit. He was known for his landscapes, portraits and symbolic scenes.
