Birds eye views of the cities of Novee Zamky (German: Neuhausel) in southwestern Slovakia and Visegrad (German: Plintenburg) north of Budapest on the Danube.

 

Published circa 1600 by Georg Braun (1541-1622) and Frans Hogenberg (1535-1590).

 

A legend lower left gives indications of the locations of main buildings in the town, including the churches, the main city gates, the market and the slaughterhouse.

Wonderful details - a man waters his horse. Nobility greet one another along the road, cannons fire from the Visegrad hillside.

 

Condition: Worn along the center fold with some paper loss Light browning of sheet.
