Wonderful large folk art box with a typically Swiss scene of cows heading up to the Alpine pastures at the beginning of summer.

In the French speaking Alpine regions, this ascent to the mountain pastures is known as "La Poya." The name is also given to depictions in art of the procession of cattle and their minders in traditional costume (the armaillis).
