Fashion Plate from La Mode Illustree

Three beautiful women conspiring in a garden.

This plate was drawn by the artist Anaïs Toudouze, a famous woman illustrator of the period who was at the center of a talented family of artists and art critics in the Belle Epoche. Her father was the artist Alexandre-Marie Colin, and her husband was the architect and engraver Gabriel Toudouze. Her son became a well-known art critic in the circles around Emile Zola.

Dated 1870

The print is signed in the plate by the artist.

Dimensions: 10.75 X 15 inches

Condition: Please note that this plate has three small holes in the center around the hands of the woman holding the parasol. Some light creasing of sheet and light toning around the edges.

Despite this small defect, this is very beautiful print.
