Gerhard Marcks was one of Germany's greatest 20th Century sculptors.

His work as in woodcuts, linocuts and lithography show a strong sculptural quality.

The posters on these pages were made from works commissioned by the artist for his 80th and 90th birthday exhibitions. The poster for his 90th birthday exhibition is based on a lithograph which the artist entitled "Der Wachhund."

The poster for his 80th Birthday (second image opposite) shows a woman dancing flamenco with a guitarist seated in the background.

These digital photos iinclude some shadows and reflections, but both posters are in excellent condition and do not have any marks or discoloration.
