The Modern Punch Maker
By Isaac Cruikshank
1806
This is the smaller version as reproduced in 1806 or 1807 in the London and Paris review.
The text reads: "Though the ingredients taken separately may not be pleasing to every palate, yet when mixed together they may go down with a tolerable relish"
"I don't think it is strong enough, this Arrack (?) is very enticing stuff. I like the tast of the orange. It makes the Punch pleasing better without the lemmon there. I think John Bull will like it now.
